2021 Taylor 814ce – Natural – Rosewood Armrest – Includes Original Hardshell Case – Used Excellent
There is a reason the 814ce has been Taylor's flagship acoustic-electric for decades — it is the guitar that most completely expresses what the company has always been trying to do. The Grand Auditorium body sits in the sweet spot between intimate and powerful, warm and articulate, equally capable under a fingerpicker's touch and a strummer's full attack. The classic pairing of solid Sitka spruce over solid Indian rosewood delivers the tonal combination that players and engineers have reached for consistently across virtually every genre of music — warm, complex lows from the rosewood, clear and projecting highs from the spruce, and a slightly scooped midrange that leaves room in a mix for vocals and other instruments without losing presence or definition. V-Class bracing elevates all of that to a new level, resolving the fundamental tension between volume and sustain that has defined acoustic guitar construction for over a century. Notes bloom longer, the guitar rings more consistently in tune across the full fretboard, and the overall response has a cohesion and musical intelligence that players notice immediately. This 2021 example carries the radius rosewood armrest that was added to the standard 814ce when Taylor consolidated the lineup, softening the lower bout edge against the forearm for genuine comfort over a long playing session — a small change that makes a real difference. The West African ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl Element inlays, maple binding, rosewood edge trim, abalone rosette, tortoise pickguard, and gloss finish throughout give the guitar the premium visual presence its reputation demands. Taylor ES2 electronics and the Venetian cutaway complete a guitar that moves seamlessly from the living room to the stage.
This one was purchased new here at Mill River Music in 2021, maintained and cared for by the original owner, and just traded back in. Just set up through our shop by our Taylor-certified technicians. Minimal signs of play and very little to see — it plays and looks great throughout.
