Taylor 312ce 12-Fret – Natural – V-Class Bracing – Includes Original Hardshell Case – Mint
Taylor introduced V-Class bracing in 2018 and it represented the most significant departure from standard acoustic guitar construction in over a century. Traditional X-bracing creates an inherent tension between volume and sustain — the top has to flex to generate projection, but stiffness is what creates sustain, and those two things work against each other. V-Class bracing resolves that conflict by running two stiff rails along the centerline of the top and allowing the sides to vibrate more freely, which means the guitar can be simultaneously louder and more sustained than an X-braced instrument. The additional benefit, and the one that players tend to notice most in a playing session, is intonation — V-Class guitars ring more in tune with themselves across the fretboard in a way that is genuinely audible. The 312ce 12-Fret is one of the cleaner expressions of what the system can do. The Grand Concert body is compact and comfortable, built for fingerstyle and nuanced playing rather than dreadnought-style projection. The 12-fret neck join shifts the bridge slightly toward the soundhole, which adds midrange warmth and gives the guitar a slightly more relaxed, vintage character. Solid Sitka spruce over solid sapele back and sides is a pairing that delivers balanced tone across the spectrum — woody and warm in the lows, focused and punchy in the mids, clear and articulate on top. The mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard is fast and smooth, and the ES2 electronics are Taylor's own system, positioned at the saddle for a natural, transparent amplified sound. White binding, small diamond Italian acrylic inlays, firestripe pickguard, and a Venetian cutaway that keeps the upper register accessible — everything about this guitar is considered and well-executed.
This one is mint. It has not been played in any meaningful way and shows no signs of wear. It has a small filled in area on the bridge that was done at the factory- it is a figured piece of ebony and as such there was a small void that Taylor chose to fill when it was being built. It is a very cool looking piece of ebony! It has been inspected and set up by our Taylor-certified technicians and is ready to go. A serious instrument at a used price with the original Taylor hardshell case.
