PRS spent decades refining their approach to electric guitar building before turning serious attention to acoustics, and when they did they brought the same engineering rigor and attention to detail that made their electrics famous. The SE A60E Angelus is the clearest expression of what that looks like at an accessible price point. The body is the Angelus — PRS's single-cutaway acoustic shape, designed for player comfort and upper-register access — and the tonewood pairing is one of the more distinctive combinations available in this price range. The solid Sitka spruce top delivers the clarity, projection, and dynamic range that spruce is known for, while the ziricote back and sides bring a tonal character that sits somewhere between ebony and rosewood — full in the low end, with beautifully rolled-off highs that give the instrument a warm, vintage quality that spruce-topped guitars rarely achieve on their own. PRS's hybrid X/Classical bracing borrows from both steel-string and classical building traditions, allowing the top to vibrate more freely than a standard X-brace configuration and contributing to a voice that is bigger and more open than the price tag would suggest. The ebony fingerboard and bridge are premium choices at this level, the bone nut and saddle optimize tone and sustain, and the PRS bird inlays, abalone rosette, and figured maple binding and purfling give the whole instrument a level of visual sophistication that is genuinely hard to find in its class. The PRS-Voiced Fishman Sonitone electronics are discreetly mounted in the soundhole and deliver a natural, transparent amplified tone that holds up on stage without fighting the guitar's acoustic character.

The neck profile is a wide-fat shape that fills the hand beautifully — meaty and substantial without being overwhelming, immediately comfortable for a wide range of players.
