This 1967 Kay Archtop is a fantastic example of late-60s American-made grit and charm. Featuring the iconic "spade with plectrum" headstock logo (used from 1966–1968), this Cherry Red beauty has a look that is pure vintage Americana. Built with a laminate birch top and maple back and sides, it delivers that classic, percussive archtop "bark" that is perfect for blues, folk, or old-school jazz.
The condition is Very Good, especially considering its age. We have just performed a full professional setup, and this Kay is playing clean and comfortably right at acoustic spec. Importantly, the adjustable truss rod is in good working order—a feature not always guaranteed on instruments from this era. The neck binding has been replaced in some sections to ensure the fingerboard remains stable and smooth. Please note that the original pickguard is missing, and like most Kays from this period, it is a purely acoustic instrument with no pickups or electronics.
