Alvarez AMPE915EAR Artist Elite Parlor Acoustic-Electric – Natural Shadowburst – Used Very Good
Alvarez launched the Artist Elite series with a clear goal — to build custom-shop-quality instruments from carefully selected tonewoods at a price working players could actually justify. The AMPE915EAR is a strong argument that they succeeded. It's a parlor-body acoustic-electric built around a tonewood pairing you don't often see at this price point: a solid AA North Western red cedar top over Macassar ebony back and sides. Cedar brings a warmer, smoother voice than spruce — less transient attack, more immediate bloom — and against the strong bass and clear highs of the Macassar ebony, the result is a small-bodied guitar that sounds considerably bigger and more complex than its footprint would suggest. The satin mahogany neck is comfortable and fast, the bevel armrest is a genuinely useful touch on a parlor that you spend time playing, and the bone nut and saddle signal the kind of attention to detail that sets this series apart. The Alvarez SYS100 pickup system runs through a discreet soundhole console that keeps the look clean while giving you a reliable signal when you need to plug in.
This one is in very good condition — minor signs of play, one small ding and some light surface marks on the back, nothing structural or dramatic. The neck is straight and solid, fret wear is minimal, and it plays great through the shop. A genuinely impressive little guitar for fingerpicking, travel, or any situation where you want a lot of tone in a small package.
