Jean Larrivee started building guitars in Vancouver in the late 1960s, and the reputation he built over the following decades is one of the more quietly respected stories in North American lutherie. The 02 series has long been the entry point into the Larrivee lineup, and what makes it remarkable is how much guitar you get at that price — all-solid wood construction, careful joinery, and that distinctive Larrivee voice that rewards a player who listens closely. The D body is a full dreadnought with real presence and volume, and the 12-string configuration layers on that shimmer and harmonic depth that makes the format so addictive — strum a chord and it just hangs in the air, full and complex and alive in a way a 6-string simply can't replicate. The solid Sitka spruce top paired with solid mahogany back and sides is a time-tested combination, warm and woody with enough clarity to let individual notes breathe inside a chord. Larrivee's parabolic bracing keeps the low-mid response focused and clean — this is a dreadnought that records and amplifies without fighting you. The satin finish feels natural under the hand, and the neck has that easy, unhurried feel that makes you want to stay on it longer than you planned.
This one is in very good condition — basic signs of play but no significant wear, nothing structural, and it plays great through the shop. Comes with a nice molded hard case.
