Guild JF55-12-E NT 12-String Acoustic-Electric w/ HSC – Used
This Guild JF55-12-E NT is a legendary jumbo 12-string, often cited as one of the finest 12-string guitars ever built. Made in the Westerly, RI factory, this model features a massive jumbo body that delivers the iconic Guild "wall of sound." This particular example is rare as it includes a factory-installed pickup system, making it stage-ready.
The guitar is a wonderful player and sounds fantastic. It has been professionally set up with medium action, and there is plenty of room on the saddle to go lower if you prefer a sleeker feel. Structurally, the guitar is quite healthy; the beautiful spruce top is nice and flat overall, with only a small, common area of minor bellying below the bridge on the treble side. The rosewood back and sides are stunning and contribute to the rich, complex overtones this model is famous for.
Cosmetically, the guitar presents beautifully overall but shows some signs of shrinking binding here and there with some finish roughness in those areas. We have thoroughly inspected the binding; while there has been some shrinking and movement over time (causing the finish roughness), it is all structurally secure. With almost no fret wear, this is a killer instrument for the serious 12-string player. It includes the original hardshell case.
