Kalamazoo KG-11 – Used
The Kalamazoo KG-11 was built by Gibson in the 1930s as part of their Kalamazoo line, offering players an affordable but high-quality flat-top acoustic guitar during the Depression era. With its small-body “L-00”-inspired design, ladder bracing, and spruce/mahogany construction, the KG-11 is known for its woody, mid-focused tone that cuts beautifully through old-time, blues, and fingerstyle playing.
This example shows the character and patina you’d expect from a nearly century-old instrument, with honest wear and signs of age. It has a substantial crack in both the side and the top, which has been expertly repaired and does not affect the playability. The back of the neck shows natural wearing on the palm side, and the guitar has scuffs and scratches consistent with its age. Despite these cosmetic issues, it remains structurally sound with a comfortable, worn-in neck feel and a dry, articulate voice that only decades of age can produce. A rare opportunity to own a piece of Gibson’s pre-war history under the Kalamazoo brand.
