The DB-90 is the flagship of Boss's Dr. Beat metronome line — a full-featured practice tool that goes well beyond a basic click track. The Note Mixing function lets you build custom rhythms instantly by adjusting levels across five note values, and dozens of built-in PCM drum patterns give you something more musical to play along to than a bare metronome click. Four click sounds including a human voice count-in, a Rhythm Coach function with onboard microphone for timing feedback, and a Reference Tone function for tuning verification cover most of what a serious practice setup needs. Direct instrument input handles guitar and bass with headphone monitoring, MIDI input syncs to external sequencers, and an optional footswitch handles hands-free play/stop. Tempo range runs 30–250 BPM at plus or minus 0.1% accuracy. Large backlit LCD with dedicated sliders, buttons, and rotary dial throughout.
