Vintage 1963 Fender Jazzmaster / Jaguar Hardshell Case – White Tolex with Black Trim – Good Condition
By 1963 Fender was at the absolute peak of its pre-CBS creative run — the Jazzmaster was their flagship electric, the Jaguar had just arrived as their new top of the line, and the cases coming out of Fullerton reflected that ambition. The white tolex with black trim was introduced mid-1963, and it's notably rarer than the brown tolex cases that preceded it, which makes a clean surviving example worth paying attention to. These cases were built to last and most of them did — the construction is solid and the form factor is unmistakably of its era, that long offset profile shaped to cradle one of the more distinctively styled guitars Leo Fender ever put his name on.
This one is in good, honest condition for its age — interior and exterior are usable and presentable, with the kind of wear you'd expect from six decades of existence but nothing that makes it unsuitable for display or light use. One latch is non-functional, as shown clearly in the photos. The other latches work. A great piece of early Fender history on its own, and a natural home for a vintage Jazzmaster or Jaguar that deserves a period-correct case.
